Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join your group. I became a member back in June of this year.
I have been playing with photogrpahy for many years, buying my first SLR (Olympus) back when I graduated from college (1988). I've been in and out of it several times, going back to a film SLR (Canon 630) when my daughter was younger. Then I fell out again but played around with camcorders and a point-and-shoot (Sony) camera for a while.
About two years ago I got tired of the limitations of the P&S camera and got back into "real" photography with the Canon Rebel XSi. I bought a few lenses and a flash and started taking pictures on a more regular basis. Last October I sold the XSi and upgraded to the Canon 7D.
I've gavitated towards wildlife and bird photography mostly, but would like to expand to other areas as well. I appreciate the events that the group organizes (like the Inner Harbor walk) as it gives me the opportunity to do something different. I've made several trips to Bombay Hook and Blackwater, as well as numerous trips to Conowingo. I also frequent the Maryland and National Zoos. I'm also a member of the FONZ Photo Club at the National Zoo and would be happy to pass along what I learn from that group.
I live in Elkridge with my wife and teenage daughter, enjoy gardening, home projects and computer gaming. We are also active in the Band Booster organization at Long Reach High School and spend many of our Fall weekends at football games and band competitions around the area.
