18th Annual Blessing of the Fleets

On April 4 at 1 p.m. the Navy Memorial will host the annual Blessing of the Fleets, a tradition meant to protect ships and crews and celebrate the season. The afternoon will include water from the seven seas and the Great Lakes will be poured into the fountains at the memorial, a U.S. Navy Band performance and samples of Navy bean soup. 701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (Metro: Archives). 202-737-2300 or http://www.navymemorial.org.
