A Monumental Occasion

It's a Baltimore tradition: Historic Mount Vernon will bustle with sound and color December 4 during the 37th annual lighting of the Washington Monument. Enjoy a holiday village of food and crafts vendors, staged performances, strolling entertainment and the main event: the lighting of the 178-foot-tall monument and the fireworks display. The entertainment begins at 6 p.m.; the ceremony starts at 7 p.m., with the lighting at approximately 7:20 p.m. Free. Mount Vernon Place. 600 block of N. Charles St.
