Join Karen for a full day of learning how to capture and process HDR images in the Baltimore City historic community of Hampden.
Morning activities will include fieldwork, shooting artistic high dynamic range bracketed images. We will employ traditional compositional guidelines, such as positioning a key element on one of the “Rule of Thirds” power point, s-curves, c-curves, l-shapes, and more. We’ll touch on how color in your work can add drama and punch.
Then we’ll enjoy lunch in one of Hampden’s famous Café’s and spend the afternoon in a comfortable classroom working on your computer converting the morning captures into final images using Photomatix and Photoshop, as I walk you through my process.

We will meet at the Famous New System Bakery Café, in business since 1921, at 8:30 in the morning before heading out on the street.
All workshop participants should be shooting in camera raw and have a working knowledge of their cameras. A laptop, card reader, tripod and camera with cable release are required for the workshop in order to maximize the learning experience.
A trial version of Photomatix should be downloaded to your laptop before the session, as there is no WI-FI in the classroom.
