  • Notes: CPMG will be holding a photo event April 4th to the DC Cherry Blossom Festival. Some of the activities that day will include:

    The Cherry Blossom Festival Parade from 10am til Noon

    The Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival from 11 til 6pm

    And the cherry trees are expected to be at their peak that weekend.

    Carpools will leave Chapelgate Presbyterian Church at 7:30AM to go to the metro station at Forest Glen. We will then take the Red Line to Union Station. Those wishing to meet up at another location can email me at mrearl@live.com.

  • Notes: Tonight’s Meeting (March 25, 7pm) of the Central Maryland Photographers Guild features a talk on Lighting and Posing by photographer Bob Blanken.

    Bob Blanken photographed his first wedding over thirty-eight years ago.

    Bob is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and its local affiliates. He is also a member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and the Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

    Bob has been Certified as a Professional Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America and has received their esteemed Craftsman degree. He served on their National Council for nine years.

    He a past president of The Professional Photographers Society of Greater Washington and the Maryland Professional Photographers Association. His photographs and albums have won numerous awards.

    He is VP of Education for the Greater Washington Chapter of International Special Events Society. Bob is the Official Photographer for the Potomac Chapter of MPI.

    Bob teaches several courses on lighting, portraiture and professional wedding photography through Washington Photo Safari. These courses frequently sell out.

CMPG Harbor Morning Light Shoot, 03/21/09

  • Notes: Carpools will depart Chapelgate Presbyterian Church parking lot at 5:45AM.

    Don’t be late as the morning light is only there for a very short period of time, 10 minutes or less. After that it is just early morning light and long shadows. Still very good lighting but NOT that great light, just before sunrise!

    Bring your snuggies and your tripod . . both will be needed.

    We will break about 8:30 for donuts and coffee at an agreed upon spot along Broadway Street in Fells Point.
